The ASPHER Core Curriculum for Public Health (Version 1) was formally presented to the UK Faculty of Public Health’s Europe Special Interest Group (SIG), marking a key moment in ongoing collaboration between the Association of Schools of Public Health in the European Region (ASPHER) and UK public health professionals.
The presentation was delivered by the ASPHER Fellow for the Public Health Core Curriculum, who provided an overview of Version 1 of the Curriculum. This version was originally launched during a joint workshop with the Europe SIG on 15 November 2024.
As part of the same workshop, Dr. Samia Latif showcased important work on Fair Training and Exams. This initiative highlights efforts to promote equity, quality, and consistency in public health education and assessment. The outcomes of the Fair Training work-and the emphasis on spreading good practices in training, as well as the development of both trainees and trainers-will form a central part of the collaboration between ASPHER and the Europe SIG.
During the session, members were encouraged to actively engage in the review process of Version 1 of the Core Curriculum and to contribute to the development of Version 2. In addition, members were invited to support the initiative by contributing case studies to enrich the Curriculum’s application and relevance across diverse training settings.
This engagement reflects a shared commitment to strengthening public health capacity and standardising excellence in education across Europe and beyond.
